The Office: A Documentary Film by Ken Burns

Produced as part of our  “Entertain Me” comedy series for AOL, this comedy segment shows what Ken Burns might some day be forced to produce if people stopped caring about history: a documentary about pop culture and television memes, in this case, NBC’s The Office.

Here, the documentary filmmaker applies his famous Civil War-style aesthetic to the pressing question of Dunder-Mifflin’s own inharmonious dispute: Jim’s having to choose between Pam and Karen.

This segment was covered by everyone from Entertainment Weekly to Defamer and garnered more then 200,000 views all the way back in 2007, well before people could watch these things on their iPhones. After inflation, that’s, like…20 majillion viewers today.
