During a group fishing trip, the crew competes to see who can catch the biggest fish. Using an umbrella handle for a hook and Hermes' Manwich for bait, Bender reels in a colossal-mouth bass! The massive fish pulls the Planet Express ship underwater, and drags it to the ocean floor.
Fry utilizes the Professors new anti-pressure suppository and joins Zoidberg and Bender as they scrounge for food. While exploring a sunken pirate ship, Fry sees a beautiful mermaid! Back aboard the ship, nobody believes his story. Later, the mermaid, Umbriel, swims outside Fry's window and beckons him outside. He goes to her - and they disappear into the calming sea.
The next morning, the crew forms a search party and discovers the lost city of Atlanta! Inside they run into Fry at the Krispy Kreme donut shop. Despite his friends' pleas to return home with them, Fry decides to stay in Atlanta with Umbriel. That night, as the two lovebirds get closer, Fry discovers that human-mermaid sex is not possible. He immediately changes his plan and frantically tries to reach the Planet Express ship.
